Why Us

The Difference Is Almost Always in the Prep

Two installers can put the same brand of glass in the same vehicle and produce completely different results three winters later. Everything that separates them happens before the new windshield ever touches the car.

A windshield is held on by a bead of structural urethane maybe a centimetre wide. That bead has to bond to two things: the glass and the painted metal channel around the opening, called the pinch weld. If the pinch weld is rusty, or if the old adhesive was scraped down to bare metal and left unprimed, or if the primer did not get its flash time before the bead went down, the bond is compromised from day one. It will still look perfect when you drive away. It leaks in year two, and it is not holding the roof the way it should if the vehicle ever rolls.

The unglamorous steps — trimming the old urethane to a uniform bed instead of gouging it, treating corrosion instead of covering it, waiting out primer flash time on a cold morning when you would rather be moving — are the entire job. That is where the care goes here.

What You Get on Every Call

A real price before we drive out

Give us the VIN and you get a firm number on the phone. No "we will have to see it" on a routine windshield, and no surprise line items when the work is done.

Repair recommended when repair is right

A chip repair pays a fraction of what a replacement pays. We still recommend it when it is the correct call, because a factory seal that has never been cut is better than any replacement.

Honest safe drive-away times

Urethane cures on a temperature and humidity curve. In January in Woodland Park or Palmer Lake that curve is slower, and you will be told the real number instead of a convenient one.

Recalibration handled, not skipped

If your vehicle has a forward camera, it gets recalibrated as part of the job. You do not get sent somewhere else afterward, and it does not quietly get left undone.

Rust gets dealt with

When we pull old glass and find corrosion in the channel — common on older vehicles and on cars that live under trees in Black Forest — it gets treated. You will be told what was found and what was done about it.

Insured, and glad to prove it

Ask for the certificate of insurance before anyone touches your vehicle. It should be produced immediately, by us or by anyone else you call.

Local Conditions Are Part of the Job

Glass work in Colorado Springs is not the same as glass work at sea level. Cure times run differently in dry air at 6,000 feet, and differently again at 8,400 feet in Woodland Park. Wind on the open plains around Falcon and Calhan makes setting a windshield outdoors genuinely unsafe on the wrong day. Traction sand on the Monument Hill grade and through Ute Pass above Manitou Springs means chip repair here is routine maintenance, not a rare event.

Those are not talking points. They change how a job gets scheduled, which adhesive comes out of the van, and what we tell you about when you can drive.

What We Will Tell You No About

There are jobs worth turning down, and saying so up front saves everyone a wasted trip:

  • Repairing a crack that runs to the edge of the glass. It will keep running. That is a replacement.
  • Repairing damage sitting directly in the driver's sightline when the vehicle is going to be driven at night on Highway 24. The residual distortion is not worth it.
  • Setting glass outdoors in driving rain or a hard crosswind. Reschedule, or find a garage.
  • Handing back a camera-equipped vehicle without recalibrating it, no matter how much of a hurry anyone is in.

Ask Us Anything About the Job First.

It is a five-minute phone call. Ask about adhesive, cure time, recalibration or glass brand before you book anything.
